Practical Completion

The stage in a construction or refurbishment project when the works are sufficiently complete for the property to be handed over and used for its intended purpose, despite potentially minor outstanding defects or snagging items. In a hotel lease, practical completion can trigger possession, lease commencement and ultimately rent.
